True Victory

In fact, conquering evil with good is the only true victory. By goodness even the biggest enemy can be conquered.

A farmer lived in Kailashpur village. His name was Sumer Singh. Sumer Singh was very quarrelsome and arrogant. He did not talk directly to the people of the village.

He was ready to fight and fight with every man in the village. The people of the village also did not like to talk to him because of his behaviour.
Another farmer named Yashveer came and started living in the same village. Yashveer was a very straightforward and good man. He spoke lovingly with everyone. He also used to help the people of the village when the time came.
All the villagers respected him. He used to take the advice of Yashveer in his work. Yashveer got a good visit to everyone's place.
Sumer Singh did not like this thing. He started jealous of Yashveer in his heart.
Yashveer came to know about all the things about Sumer Singh, but he did not know that Sumer Singh was jealous of him too.


One day Sumer Singh left his oxen in Yashveer's field.
The bulls ate all his crops, but Yashveer quietly drove them out of the field.
He did not say anything to Sumer Singh about this.

A few days later, Sumer Singh broke the water drains leading to Yashveer's field. All the water went out of the field. Even on this he did not say anything to Sumer Singh.
Sumer Singh continued to harm Yashveer in various ways, but Yashveer did not give him a chance to quarrel even once.
One day Sumer Singh was returning from his field after filling the grain in a bullock cart. There was a small creek on the way.

During the rainy season, the drain used to get muddy. Sumer Singh's bullock cart got stuck in that drain.

Its bulls were also weak. They couldn't get the car out of the mud.
He would sometimes beat the bullocks, sometimes go into the mud and push the bullock cart by shoulder, but the bullock cart was not coming out.

After worrying for a long time, he sat down in despair. Now he couldn't find a way out.
Other people passing by were also not helping him. Now he was starting to regret his behavior, but what could he have done? He was not even asking anyone to help out of pride.
Slowly the evening started, but the bullock cart was not leaving. The news of this somehow reached Yashveer.
Yashveer saw this as a good opportunity and took his mighty bullocks and walked towards the drain. People prevented him a lot from going, but he said that today is the time when I can teach him something.

When Sumer Singh saw Yashveer coming towards him with a bull, his surprise knew no bounds. Still he said proudly, "Yashveer, you come back with your oxen. I don't need your help."

Yashveer said, “If you still have something in your mind, then fulfill it. But today I will stay by taking out your car."

Saying this, Yashveer removed Sumer Singh's weak oxen and added his powerful oxen to the cart.

His mighty oxen pulled the cart out of the drain in one stroke.

Now Sumer Singh started apologizing to Yashveer with folded hands. The proud enemy inside him was dead today. Yashveer said, "Friend there is no need to add hands to it. It was my duty to help you in trouble."

Sumer Singh said, "Friend! I do not deserve this. I have hurt you many times. Today you have conquered the enemy within me."
Now both of them sat on a cart full of grains and walked towards the village. Everyone was surprised to see them coming together.
