Duty Towards Teacher

(Obey And Respect Your Teacher)

Next to your parents, your teachers are your well-wishers. They do a lot for you. They give you knowledge. They tell you the difference between good and bad. They tell you what is true and what is false.   They shape your lives so that you may grow up to become good citizens of your country.

They are  your truth guides in life. They are a gift of God to you.

They care for you at school, like your parents do at home. They teach you good manners, good habits and some useful things about life and the world.  You should be very thankful to your teachers. You should always obey and respect your teachers.

Great men like Arjuna, Shivaji, Alexander and Lord Rama were all made great by their teachers. They were inspired by their teachers to do the best.

Perhaps You know, Guru Dronacharya was very proud of Arjuna's skill in archery.

Arjuna was able to perfect his skill because his 'guru' always encouraged him to practise more.

Alexander's teacher Aristotle taught Alexander how to be a great and noble king. Alexander won many battles. He became a great conquerer at a very young  age. He used all the knowledge given to him by his teacher well.

It was guru Aristotle's inspiration that made Alexander such a great man.

Even in our recent history when Dr Rajendra Prasad had become the President of india he always touched his guru's feet with great love and respect. He always tried to get the blessing of  his guru.

Since teachers do a lot for the students, they teacher a valuable service to society. What must the students do?

Students must obey them. They should learn to pay attention to what their teachers tell them in the class. Attentive students make the teacher's talks easier.  If the teacher is disturbed by a noisy or  an inattentive group of children, he is likely to be annoyed. His feelings are hurt.

Therefore, it is the duty of the students to make the teacher's work easy. Nothing pleases a teacher more than the co-operation and respect of his students.

So, Always keep in mind that your teachers do not expect anything from you in school. They only expect you to be obedient, respectful and attentive both in and outside in the class.  Above all, they want you to be regular in your learning work. This is all to lead you from darkness to light.

Here is a prayer in honour of the teachers.

Dear God, bless those who teach me,

And all who take care of me.

Help them to be patient with me,

Reward their labour and their love.

May I show them respect and obedience,

May they see you in every child.
