Endurance Book True Story


    "If a man has the quality of tolerance, then even the worst of the worst can bow down before us."

    It occurred a long time ago. A child was born at a place called Tankara in Gujarat province.
The parents named the child Moolshankar.
This child grew up and became famous by the name of Swami Dayanand. Swami Dayanand founded the Arya Samaj.
    One day Swami Dayanand went to Varanasi to take a bath in the Ganges River. He was accompanied by his other disciples. While Swamiji was taking a bath in the Ganges, a man came there to take a bath. The man sat down on the steps of the ghat.
    Swamiji came out after taking a bath. When they were returning through the stairs wearing clothes, the stranger sitting on the stairs started abusing them. Swamiji did not pay any heed to his words. They went ahead.
    A disciple asked Swamiji, "This man was abusing you. Why didn't you tell him anything?"
Swamiji smiled and said, "Vats, if a man gives you something and you don't take it, what will happen?"

The disciple replied, "That thing will remain with him."
Swamiji said, "Okay Similarly, the man abused us, but we did not listen to him, that is, we did not give any answer to his abuses.
    Thus his abuses remained with him." Hearing Swamiji's thoughts, all the disciples were stunned.
Swamiji explained to all the disciples that do not speak anything without saying anything. Don't say bad things to anyone. Don't criticize anyone. Never speak such a truth which will hurt others.
Always speak such words, so that no one gets hurt.
Swami Dayanand was the epitome of courage, patience and forbearance.
