Hyder Ali And Tipu Sultan Fight With Tiger Story

In mysore in the south of india lies the old city of Seringampatam. Theeir lived two famous men who made a name for themselves in the history of india.

These two men were father and son. The father, whose name was Hyder Ali, was called the lion and the son, whose name was Tipu Sultan,  was called the Tiger.

Hyder Ali he was the son of an officer of the ruler of Mysore. He was a clever man and good soldier. He soon got a good post in the service of the ruler.

The little by little he roes the power. Soon he became the real ruler of Mysore. The ruler, who was weak, could not stand in his way. Hyder Ali was all powerful. He was so strong that he went to war with the British in Madras. The war was soon over and peace was made.

  The British and the French were at war in Europe. It spread to India and the British took the French settlement here.

Hyder Ali didn't like this, The French had been supplying him with arms so he made up his mind to attack the British in Madras.  He went there with a large army. In the first battle he won a victory. A number of British were taken prisoners. He treated them very cruelly. He put them all in jail. Many of them died, others were set free after 4 years. 

The British then sent another army from Bengal. A great battle took peace between the British and Hyder Ali. This time they defeated him soon. After this Hyder Ali passed away. He had been a great ruler. Although he could not read or write yet he ruled well. As he was cruel, people were afraid of him. They did what he wanted them to do.

 After Hyder Ali came his son, Tipu Sultan. He called himself the Tiger of Mysore. He put the stripe of the tiger upon everything even his flog was striped like a tiger.  The British made peace with him. But peace didn't last long, war soon broke out. Tipu Sultan was defeated. He had to give up a great deal of his hand. He was very angry at this.

The British and the French were fighting again. Tipu Sultan wished to be friends with the French. He hoped that they would help him against the British. So he asked the French to help him to drive the British out of India. when the British came to know of  it, they sent an army against Tipu Sultan.

  The British army came and attacked Seringapatam. The town was taken after some hard fighting. It was the tiger's last battle. He died fighting bravely to the last.

Like his father Tipu Sultan was an brave ruler. He was well educated.
