    It was Tuesday. George was ill. He was on bed. He could not go to school today. His mother sat beside him. She called for a doctor.

“What is the matter with George?” asked the doctor. “George is not well. He has cough and fever,” said the mother.

The doctor looked at George and touched his body. His body was warm. He took out a thermometer from his bag. He took his temperature. “Don't worry. He will get well soon. Let him rest in bed and give him this medicine,” he said.

“May I give him bread and butter?” asked George's mother.

“No, don't give him any butter. Give him bread and let him take milk.”

“Shall I get well soon?” asked George. “I don't want to lie on bed. I don't want to miss my class.”

“Yes, you will soon be all right to go to school,” said the doctor.

The doctor said to George's mother, "Don't worry! George will be quite well in two-three days. Only see to it that he takes his medicine regularly and stays in bed.” Rest and medicine can cure him.
