Only a courageous and brave person is called a true citizen of the country.

    There is a famous country in Europe - Holland. This country is situated on the banks of the sea. Its land is sometimes lower than the edge of the sea. The people here have built a high and thick wall to protect the country from sea water.

A poor laborer lived in a village situated on this wall. The poor laborer had a promising son named Peter. Peter went to school every day passing by this wall built by the sea. One day Peter started playing on his way to school. He was late in reaching school as he was engaged in sports. The teacher gave him leave after two hours in the evening due to late arrival in the school. The child was very sad about this.

It was evening time. The day was about to hide. Slowly the sunlight was slowing down. Peter was walking fast towards the house. Passing by the wall, his eyes fell on the water coming out of the wall. At first he did not pay attention to it, but after going a little further he noticed that if the water continues to flow through the wall like this, then this wall may break during the night and cause a big accident.
Peter returned and came to the place from where the water was coming out. On observing him very carefully, he came to know that there was a small hole in the wall from which the water was coming. Peter tried hard to close the hole by picking up some soil from the roadside, but the water did not stop flowing. All the soil he applied would get washed away with the water.

A solution came to Peter's mind. He took small pieces of stone and filled it in that hole and then applied soil and kept his palm. By doing this the water stopped flowing. He thought that in a while, I would inform the village by some person going from village to village. Villagers will come and close this hole. It was night, no one coming towards the village came.
Peter did not move from his place. He sat all night with his palm on that hole.
His parents got worried when he did not reach home. He interrogated Peter's companions.

On enquiry, it came to know that today he was late in reaching school, so the teachers will give him late leave today. Knowing this, he thought that the teacher must have held him with him due to being late.
Peter's body was numb from the cold as he sat all night with his hands on the hole in the wall. He also had a very high fever, but he did not give up. In the morning, people started coming and going through that road. A man's gaze fell on Peter sitting by the wall.
Seeing Peter, he understood the whole situation. He went to Peter and saw that Peter was burning badly with fever. He immediately took off his warm coat, covered it and started heating it by lighting a fire. The man brought Peter hot milk from the market and made him drink.
After a while a crowd of people gathered near Peter. A person ran and informed about this in the village. After getting the information, the people of the village came to the place where Peter was sitting.
People stopped the flowing water by repairing the wall. After some time Peter's parents also came to that place. Parents should not be blown away by the bravery of their son. The villagers gathered and paid respect to Peter. He was taken out in procession by making him sit on his shoulder. Everyone was cheering on Peter. Everyone had one word on their faces, "This brave boy saved the village from drowning."
