Abraham Lincoln life story in short In English

The United States of America is a huge country. Today it is the most prosperous and powerful country in the world. Among those who took this country forward, the great man whose name is taken with special respect was Abraham Lincoln.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1806, in Kentucky. His father was a poor woodcutter. He lived in a small wooden hut in the forest itself. There was no arrangement for Lincoln's education in childhood. He wanted to study, but could not go to school.
When Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died. His father remarried a year later; his stepmother paid special attention to Lincoln's education. Throughout the day he worked in the fields or cut dry wood in the forest, but at night when everyone slept, his mother would teach him to write with charcoal in the dim light of the fireplace. The urge to read Lincoln's writing intensified.

Lincoln used to read the biography of great men with great interest. One day he came to know that a rich farmer had a book called Biography of George Washington. Lincoln wanted to read this book. They went to the farmer and asked him for a book. He kept reading that book till late night. When the lights went out, he slept with the book. When he woke up in the morning, he saw that the book was drenched with dew. They panicked and reached the farmer's house with the agreed book.
The farmer was very angry seeing the book. He asked Lincoln for the price of the book, but poor Lincoln had nothing to pay. The farmer said, "If you cannot pay the price, work on my field for three days, then I will give this book to you." Lincoln worked hard in the farmer's field for three days, now he was very happy, because the book had become his own.

Lincoln was greatly inspired by reading the biography of George Washington. George Washington was the first President of America. Abraham Lincoln made up his mind that I too would be the President of America.

Lincoln's early life was very difficult. They worked in the fields, plowed, harvested crops and somehow earned their livelihood. While doing all this work, he continued to study. He did not stop reading and writing even in the most difficult circumstances.

After studying law, he became a lawyer. Gradually, his advocacy started, because he was capable as well as was honest and truthful. He did not take false cases at all. He accepted to advocate on behalf of the right side.

In these days a happy incident happened in his life. He was introduced to a girl named Mary. She was beautiful and well educated. She used to tell her friends that she would marry the President of America. His friends used to make fun of him for this. On being introduced to Abraham Lincoln, 'Mary' was fascinated by his simple nature and human qualities. A few days later she married Lincoln.

Once Douglas came to the city of Lincoln. Douglas was a supporter of slavery in America, but Abraham Lincoln was a staunch opponent of slavery. In those days, Negro people were kept as slaves in America. Even the practice of buying and selling slaves like animals was prevalent. These black slaves had to work hard in the fields. The owners and merchants used to treat them mercilessly and beat them with whips. Heavy iron chains were tied around the feet of the slaves so that they could not run away. Seeing the pitiable condition of the slaves, Lincoln's heart was moved. He was determined to oppose slavery and confront Douglas. He said that no one has the right to be his own master and keep others as slaves. He clearly said - "All human beings are equal. Everyone should get equal rights and freedom.

Lincoln's fame increased when he opposed the slavery policies. I have always been with him in this struggle. Lincoln's popularity gradually increased.
First, the people of the state of Illinois elected him an MP. Later in the year 1860, he was elected President of America. Both Lincoln and his wife's aspirations were fulfilled.

In those days, there was a lot of opposition between the people of North and South in America. The people of the south used to make slaves work on their large cotton fields and wanted the slavery to expand further in other provinces, but the people of the north did not want this. Due to this civil war broke out between the people of North and South. This worried Lincoln greatly. They knew that the country would be able to become great and powerful only when all the states of the North and the South remained united in unity. For this he had to struggle hard, but in the end he succeeded. Slavery ended and the whole nation was tied in the thread of unity. Due to his great success, he was elected President for the second time.

On April 14, 1865, while Lincoln was watching a play with his wife in Washington, a wicked man opened fire on him, killing him.
Abraham Lincoln is a living example of the fact that even the poorest of the poor can attain the highest position of the nation on the strength of character, honesty and talent.
