Story For Good Friendship
Lesson Name: Good Friendship Company
Company shapes our future,
It makes us good or bad
Bad company make us evil,
The good one make us glad.
We are greatly influenced by our company outside our home. So, we must choose our company carefully. A company is very important for us because a man is known by the company he keeps. If you move about with good children, you are known as good but if you keep bad company, people will know you as a bad person.
Good company always inspires you. If you make friends with boys and girls who generally are very good in studies, you will think of improving yourself. Likewise, bad company hampers your progress. The friendship with boys and girls who always lag behind will also make you lazy. You will slide down in studies. Their influence will never make you conscious of your deficiency or drawback. You become insensitive. You will feel glad to be a party to play mischief on other good children.
Remember, this will give you happiness for the time being, but in the long run, you will spoil your life. So, always keep off bad company.
Here is a story to tell you what a bad company can do to a person.
Once, a boy fell into bad company. His father tried to set him right. The boy had no interest left whatsoever in studies. Often bad reports were received from his teachers. His father got sick of hearing complaints against him. He felt helpless. He did not know what to do with him.
One day, the father had an idea to solve this problem. He bought some apple from the market. He purchased one rotten apple as well. Mixing the rottet apple with the good ones, he put them in a fruit bowl and asked his son to put the bowl in the almirah.
Next morning when the family set for breakfast, his father asked his son to bring the fruit bowl to the table.
The boy obeyed his father. The moment he opened the almirah, he felt a terrible stink. He picked up the fruit bowl and examined that almost all the apples in the basket had become rotten somehow. They weren't fit to be eaten.
He asked his father what to do with the rotten fruit. Well, his father told him that the dust-bin was the only place for the rotten apples. Sadly, the boy threw away all the apples in the dust-bin. He was very sorry for he had no apple to eat that day.
Then he went to his father. The father said, "Look son! the apples had to be thrown as they were all rotten. One bad apple in the bowl spoiled the whole lot of good ones. This is the result of bad company."
The message was very clear. The boy understood what his father had wanted to learn. He promised to give up his bad ways to become a good person once again. So, He started taking interest in his studies. In a short time, he was able to make up from his deficiency. This pleased his parents and teachers as well.
The moral of the story conveys that one should be careful of the company one keeps.
